Speed Control
The chassis with all components removed.
The chassis with the speed select and fine pitch control installed.
Step pulley:
A silicon nitride ceramic bearing ball is held in place with a small dab of
bearing brease
After lubricating the shaft and bearing bore with Texaco Regal R&O 46 the
clean step pulley slides over the shaft and comes to a rest over the bearing
ball.
Idler wheel
Phenolic shim and nylon thrust washer cleaned and re-installed.
A nice new Mirko idler wheel & tire.
installed.
Checking the height position of idler tire relative to the driving step
pulley. Needs an adjustment.
One of three points of adjustment. We'll make our first adjustment here.
