Thorens TD160 with mods.....
Custom plinth in Sappelle wood, tonearm is by Jelco, arm base is custom machined ( by Bill) in acrylic. The sub-chassis has cork adhered to both sides. The top plate has been removed, stripped, primer and finish-coated with a copper-colored metallic paint.
The speed change mechanisms and switching have been removed and replaced with a simple on/off switch. Speed change is now carried out manually by removing the outer platter and moving the belt up to the next crown on the drive pulley. A heavy mdf bottom plate with cutouts and brass cone feet (not pictured) finish off the bottom side.
Thorens TD166 with mods.........
Similar treatment as above TD160 except the custom plinth is done is solid ash. The tonearm is a standard Rega RB250.
