(above) Clip with ground wire secured next to spindle bearing housing

(above) With clip removed (only way to get to it is from under the bottom cover). The plastic flange works with the sheet metal clip to prevent the subplatter falling out of the spindle bearing when the table is held upside down.  Probably a good idea.

(above) Another view of the clip and flange as they work together.  The 10mm spindle on this piece appears in excellent condition. Probably the most important issue when working with tables this old. Spindles and their bearings. Note also this is a zinc alloy subplatter.  Same configuration as MK I, but the MK I on this web site does not feature the safety clip and flange.
