Michel Philipsen's Thorens TD165
The complete plinth has been removed, the chassis is shaped into the shape of the platter with a small flex-grinder. A second chassis, made out of 2 mm thick mild steel is glued over the chassis with a 1 mm thick layer of silicon compound. This lowers the resonance frequency of the chassis dramatically. The chassis has a little bend on the backside in which the connectors are mounted. Aluminium feet are bolted directly underneath the springs, giving the possibility to level the player. The cartridge is an Ortofon 2M Bronze.
